Special Guest Visit and Gatering - Tom Wallace, 4th Corvette Chief Engineer
You are invited to attend an informal gathering with the 4th Corvette Chief Engineer Tom Wallace. Tom was inducted in 2018 into the National Corvette Museum Hall of Fame. He is visiting with relatives in the Central Florida area and has agreed to meet with Corvette owners and interested Corvette enthusiasts.
Tom Wallace officially became the car guy with the best job in the world. On January 1, 2006, he succeeded Dave Hill as Corvette Chief Engineer and vehicle line executive (VLE) for performance cars. Wallace became only the fourth person to carry the title of Corvette chief engineer in the marque's history, joining an exclusive club whose membership includes Zora Arkus-Duntov, Dave McClellan and Dave Hill.
He has always been a car guy, going back to high school when he had the fastest car around, and quickly gained a reputation for being the one to beat in a drag race. He competed in the 24 hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring and Talladega 6-Hour race.
This gathering will take place on Saturday, April 20th at 3:00 p.m. at the Cocoa Library Meeting Room1 at 308 Forrest Avenue in Cocoa. Parking at the library includes the parking lot across Forrest Ave. next to the old Dixie Diner. The front lot of the library is limited but the back lot north of the Dixie is a nice size.
