Spring Central Florida Car Show Cancelled and 22nd Annual Great Brevard Duck Goes Virtual

Following discussions with the City of Cocoa, Historic Coca Village Main Street has cancelled the 2020 Central Florida Car Show. The cancellation is consistent with a general move to limit public gatherings, applying an abundance of caution as part of their response to the coronavirus pandemic. The Car Show, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 28, is not being re-scheduled at this time. Check with VisitCocoaVillage.com for up to date information.

The 22nd Annual Great Brevard Duck Race, also slated for March 28 is going virtual! Originally scheduled for the same Saturday as the Car Show, the limit on public gatherings is preventing the ducks from racing across Cocoa Harbor. However, Great Duck Race organizer, Crosswind Youth Services, plans to hold a virtual version of this 22nd annual event so that Duck adoptees will still have a shot at winning a two year lease on a 2020 Honda Civic or one of the other great prizes up for grabs. For more information and to adopt your winning ducks on line, be sure to go to GreatBrevardDuckRace.com.

Central Florida Car Show Is Set for March 28 in Historic Cocoa Village

It is that time of year and once again we are in planning for our Spring Central Florida Car Show which is set for Saturday, March 28, 11:30 – 2:30 PM.

We will be using an expanded and modified layout which will see us adding all of Harrison to Brevard Ave. and Oleander St. and quite likely, portions of Riverfront Park as well. This should make the parking process much faster and easier, doing a lot to reduce the number of cars sitting in line that we had last year. However, though we have expanded, the layout space is limited and we may have to turn latecomers away, so please reserve early! Also note that our entry form again includes a “Survivor” class for the best example of a well preserved classic (car that is).

Online pre-registration will be available at VisitCocoaVillage.com effective Feb 15, 2020. The pre-registration fee remains at $15.00 and we encourage you to take advantage of this feature. Of course you may also register by downloading your form and mailing it to:  HCVMS, PO Box 1, Cocoa, Fl. 32923, or by dropping by our office at: the Porcher House, 434 Delannoy Ave. Suite 204, Cocoa Fl. 32922. 9 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday. Don’t forget, payment must accompany your reservation.

Show Day Check In/Registration opens at 9:00 AM and please note the following:

  • Show day entries are $20.00,
  • Separate lines and express check-in for pre-registered cars.
  • Each participant must stay with his or her car through the check-in/registration process.
  • There will be no parking available until you have cleared check-in or registered as necessary.

There will be group parking available for clubs and advance group placement by arrangement. Call us at 321-631-9075 or email us at !! Give us a contact person with whom we can coordinate for your club members.

Plans call for Dash Plaques for the first 100 Registrations, trophies in 14 classes plus Mayor’s Choice and Best in Show awards. Of course there will lots of door prizes, a live DJ in the Gazebo plus live entertainment in the streets.

Oh, and once again this year, following the Central Florida Car Show, we will be hosting the 22nd Annual Great Brevard Duck Race. At 3:30 PM about 12,000 ducks will making their way across Cocoa Harbor, each trying to win a new car for their respective entrant. After the Car Show clears, come on down to Riverfront/ Lee Wenner Park and catch the race action. During the Car Show, take a few minutes to visit a participating Cocoa Village Merchant and adopt a duck of your own. It is set to be a great fun day here in Historic Cocoa Village!

Look for more information shortly and reserve early! Remember, pre-registration is $15.00 online at VisitCocoaVillage.com, and Show Day entries are $20.00 at the door.
